Tire pressure should be 38-40 psi in the rear and 40 psi the front, regardless of which Harley model you ride. In Texas you should be checking your tire pressure at least once a week because of cold mornings and warm days. This will maintain the longevity of your tires and provide you with optimal fuel mileage.
The most important factor in tire longevity is tire pressure. When a customer comes into the shop and says, “I only got 7500 miles out of a back tire…”, I usually follow up with the question “when was the last time you checked your tire pressure?” and they usually don’t know. So, if you want a longer lasting tire and better fuel mileage, check the tire pressure as often as possible.
